Ingredients

Apples:

  • 2 medium apples peeled and chopped in 1/2 pieces
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Bread:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 3/4 cups (225g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk room temperature

Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch (23 x 13 cm) loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Apple Preparation: In a bowl, toss the diced apples with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Cinnamon-Sugar Topping: In a separate small bowl, mix the light brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Set this aside as well.
  • Apple Bread Batter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring they are well incorporated. Slowly pour in the milk and mix until combined.
  • Add the flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking powder and mix until fully combined.
  • Scrape down the bowl to remove any remaining lumps.
  • Assembly: Spread half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Evenly spread half of the sugared apple mixture over the batter.
  • Spoon the remaining batter and smooth the top. Top with the remaining sugared apples and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Baking: Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Once cooled, if you'd like, drizzle your favorite glaze over the top. Slice and serve your delicious Apple Cinnamon Bread!
